This beautiful antique 12ct rolled gold antique pinwheel pendant dates to the Edwardian era and is crafted in an elegant Art Nouveau openwork design. A tiny demantoid garnet nestles in the tiered centre. The garnet is a lovely apple green and it is set into a tall bezel cup decorated with milgrain beading at the top.
Graceful and feminine the pendant has an elongated oval bale and it suspends from a 20" fine trace chain that is also made of rolled gold. Rolled gold (gold fill) jewellery is made by mechanically bonding a thick sleeve of solid gold over a base metal core, it is very durable, it looks and feels like solid gold jewellery and it won't break the bank!
This necklace is in lovely antique condition with a little light surface wear and tarnish, as to be expected in a piece this age. Evoking an era of bygone elegance this pretty feminine necklace is a classic of the period and ready to wear right out of the box.
