This lovely antique 9 carat rolled gold/gold filled locket is an unusual hexagon shape and is engraved in a different pattern on each side.
Hailing from the Edwardian era one side is decorated in flourishes with a central heart motif and monogrammed initials, the other side features pretty ferns and a tendril of ivy leaves.
The locket is a pinkish gold colour, a subtle antique rose gold shade and it opens from the side to reveal two compartments for photos. Both photo rings are still inside along with a cardboard liner and hard plastic cover on one side. It is in very good antique condition with signs of age and expected surface wear but there is no wearing away of the gold overlay, please see photos. It benefits from a heavy duty bale and the hinge is solid with the locket closing tightly with a satisfying snap.
