Circa 1760 this ravishing antique Georgian baroque pearl necklace showcases an incredible pendant set in old rose cut diamonds and rare dog-tooth wild pearls possibly originating from the Mississippi or Tennessee rivers. Finely crafted the pendant is hand-made in silver with the natural old cut diamonds close mounted and close backed - a stone setting technique seen pre-1800. A single gold accent bead sits in the centre of the diamonds. At the bottom of the pendant the long tapered tooth shaped pearls are pegged into custom silver settings and spread into a fan like arrangement.
The pearl strand (a later addition or they are the original necklace beads that have been restrung) feature freshwater baroque pearls that are charmingly irregular and beautifully matched in colour and lustre to the dog tooth pearls. The pearl strand fastens with a silver small bolt ring clasp.
A fine collectors piece for the connoisseur, feminine and beautifully proportioned this fine Georgian pearl necklace is a unique antique treasure and heirloom worthy!
