A very pretty antique Victorian cross pendant crafted in solid sterling silver with a thin layer of solid 9ct gold bonded to the front.
Made by Thomas Hopwood, Birmingham (est. 1852) the gold front is engraved in a lovely foliate with the silver on the back left plain. The cross suspends from a new Italian gold vermeil (gold-plated sterling silver) anchor chain with flat cut links that add a lovely sparkle.
In very good antique condition with light surface scratches under magnification and no wearing away of the gold overlay.
A very sweet piece of antique devotional jewellery. The perfect medium size for daily wear. Ready to wear right out of the box. Lovely for layering and a perfect gift for a loved one!
