A very pretty sterling silver Victorian Albertina pocket watch chain that can be worn as a bracelet on a slim wrist. It currently has a wearable length of only 6-1/2" but you could fasten the clip to the long tassel which would give a lot more length.
The bracelet features 3 rows of fancy link chains at each side with puffy shell motif charms in the centre. It has dog clip at one end and a tassel charm and twisted T-bar at the other. Albertina chains are very similar to their brother the Albert chain, but Albertinas were far more decorative and were used for jewellery rather than just for pocket watches. These charming bracelets are a must have for the antique jewelry lover, they are a timeless classic and eminently wearable today. Perfect for layering with other antique bracelets!
MATERIALS: Sterling silver throughout, acid tested
MEASUREMENTS: length 6-1/2" (16.5cm) between the clip and junction with the t-bar. The t-bar drop is 1.5" (35mm), tassel 2-3/4" (50mm), dog clip 22mm.
WEIGHT: 15.3 grams
HALLMARKS: stamped with lion passant for sterling on the clip
ERA: Victorian, circa 1860-1880
CONDITION: In fairly good antique condition showing moderate signs of age and wear and some tarnish but nothing untoward, please see photos. It's a bit fiddly to fasten the clip to the rings on the tassel/t-bar so we will add a larger silver jump ring for ease of wear.
