This eye-catching and unusual vintage 1950s Scottish sterling silver kilt pin is crafted as one of the ancient Celtic crosses that are found on the Isle of Iona in Scotland. It is beautifully proportioned with fine detailing right down to the weathered lettering on the front.
A quality piece crafted in heavy gauge silver it is stamped 'SILVER' and 'Made In Scotland' on the reverse along with the model number '30'
The tradition of wearing a pin to weigh down the front of a kilt is said to originate with Queen Victoria. On a windy day, in Scotland, she is said to have given a soldier her own brooch to stop the front of his kilt flapping, thus preserving his modesty!
