Superb quality with neoclassical style Acanthus engraving this beautiful vintage English silver bangle bears London hallmarks for the year 1959, so plenty of age on it too.
Made by Fred Manshaw Ltd., a manufacturing jeweller's that were located at Hatton Garden in London the bangle is Victorian inspired and heavy. Crafted on the oval in thick gauge silver it is engraved on the front with the back left plain. It has a hinged opening on one side and discreet push button clasp on the other. A silver safety chain completes this lovely piece.
The bracelet is in very, very good vintage condition showing only light wear and faint surface scratches as you might expect in a solid silver bangle this age. Note any dark spots are reflections. The clasp in perfect working order closing with a solid snap.
Classically English this type of bracelet has been popular since Victorian times, they were a popular milestone or love token gift and were often personalized with engraved names or initials on the plain back or inside.
