This beautiful vintage sterling silver Ankh cross pendant is a hard to find retired piece by James Avery, an American jeweller that has created hand-crafted devotional and meaningful designs in silver and gold since the 1950's. His retired vintage pieces are sought after and very collectible.
The pendant is fully marked and a fairly large size. It suspends from an elegant 18" (46cm) vintage sterling silver classic curb chain with a spring ring clasp.
MATERIALS: sterling silver, throughout
MEASUREMENTS: Pendant 1-1/2" tall (3.5cm) and 3/4" (2cm) wide. Chain 18" (46cm) long
HALLMARKS: pendant stamped with the registered 'candelabra' logo 'JA' and 'STER', chain clasp stamped '925'
WEIGHT: pendant 3.2 grams, chain 2.2 grams (5.4 grams total)
DATE: estimated to be 1970s (it predates the use of the copyright symbol)
CONDITION: in excellent vintage condition with minimal wear, a beautiful high polished finish and no tarnish
