Crafted in an elegant oval form from rich 15ct rose gold—a uniquely British gold standard used for just 78 years between 1854 and 1932—the warm antique hue complements the creamy white pearls beautifully. The slender knife-edge bangle is centred by an airy openwork crescent moon and radiant star, flanked by graceful scrolling motifs, each meticulously set with natural seed pearls in fine milgrain settings. The openwork design allows light to flow through the central motif, lending the piece the lightness and delicacy so characteristic of fine Edwardian jewellery.
Beautifully engineered as well as beautiful to wear, the bangle is hinged at one side and fastens with a discreet push-button clasp, complete with its original decorative safety chain for added security.
Dating to around 1905, this piece reflects the Edwardian fascination with celestial symbolism. The crescent moon was traditionally associated with new beginnings, while the star symbolised guidance and hope.
