This stunning antique Victorian pendant depicts a lyre, a heavenly ancient stringed instrument that symbolizes harmony, peace, wisdom, and artistic expression. Exquisitely detailed it is crafted in warm yellow gold and set in seed pearls with a tiny vivid pink ruby set at the bottom.
The lyre is made in an openwork design with a heart shaped gold plate pegged on to the back, this solid construction provides a lovely dimension to the piece and it's surprisingly sturdy for something that is so intricate and finely detailed. The pendant is stamped with an obscured hallmark on the bale and tests at 15ct gold. It can be purchased with or without a new Italian 14ct gold filled 18"/45cm chain as shown. If you prefer to use your own chain the pendant has a gold 4mm jump ring at the top.
