An exceptional 1930s Art Deco Egyptian Revivalist large sterling silver snake bracelet. The snake motif in jewellery has long since represented love, desire and everlasting loyalty as evidenced in this superb piece which speaks of such love: a romantic period inscription on the inside reads "FID. ET. AMORE." which is Latin and means "by faith and love".
This triple coil snake bracelet is crafted as a solid bangle in very heavy gauge silver engraved in Egyptian vistas and geometric scales detailing to the head, body and tail. The engraving is acid etched to create black oxidisation in the recesses which adds depth and definition to the fabulous hand-etching.
This is large circumference statement bangle that is worn high on the forearm. Made locally in Egypt, it is stamped with a Arabic hallmark and we have acid tested and verified that it is sterling silver.
