A top quality, exquisitely hand-engraved Victorian Aesthetic antique silver locket hallmarked in England in 1881
Bursting in Victorian sentiment the front of the locket is engraved in a stunning Asian scene complete with a pair of swallows swooping through graceful grass. To the Victorians these birds that mate for life symbolised everlasting love and loyalty and these romantic silver lockets were often gifted to fiances and brides.
This superb engraving is accented in a millegrain beaded frame and a halo of turrets and silver beads finish the edge of the locket. The reverse of the locket is also decorated in millegrain beading and a turret edge.
This very large size locket is the perfect statement piece for women who love to stand out from the crowd! It opens from the side to reveal 2 large stations for photos along with 2 silver picture frames, black satin liners and clear acetate covers.
To finish a generous puffy teardrop shape bale means she can be paired with a substantial silver chain to match her incredible character! Please note the chain shown is not included in purchase.
