An exceptional and incredibly beautiful antique English sterling silver locket hallmarked T & Co., 1876.
Superb quality the locket is fashioned in an exuberant Baroque design carpeted with faceted silver studs. The front is heavily textured and features a raised 'guiding star' studded motif framed in millegrain silver beads and a sawtooth outline. A large sized teardrop shaped bail that fits into a banded slot on the yoke at the top adds to her overall luxurious appearance.
The reverse of the locket is gently curved and it opens from the side to reveal a silver picture frame, satin covered cardboard liner and clear acetate cover in one side. There is another satin liner in the other side and no frame but it does have an inner rim so you can tuck a photo underneath to keep it in place.
