A striking and unusually large pair of Mexican "Mosaico Azteca" sterling silver cufflinks, c.1950.
Beautifully constructed, the circular faces are inlaid with a rugged textured stone mosaic—likely turquoise, malachite and chrysoprase—set in the distinctive Mosaico Azteca technique developed in Taxco during the mid-20th century. The stonework is overlaid with bold, stylised silver motifs inspired by Pre-Columbian design, giving the pair a strong, architectural presence.
These are very much in the manner of the renowned Taxco workshops such as Los Castillo, who pioneered and popularised this mosaic inlay work. Substantial in scale, the cufflinks measure an impressive 1¼ inches (3cm) in diameter, making them true statement pieces. They are fitted with robust hinged toggle backs, well-made and secure, reflecting quality craftsmanship.

Condition: Very good vintage condition. Minor surface wear and light scratches commensurate with age, hinged fittings in excellent working order.
