Inspired by Victorian design, this pretty and feminine solid sterling silver locket dates to the 1970s and features an unusual conical frustum shape in a generous, eye-catching size.
The front is beautifully decorated with enamel work on a crisp white ground, featuring a charming trio of flowers in red, blue, and yellow. The reverse is engraved in a classic acanthus leaf motif against a finely cross-hatched background, while the tapered sides are detailed with traditional line and dot engraving that adds texture and interest from every angle. You can wear this piece with either side facing for a completely different look.
Opening smoothly on a sturdy hinge, the locket reveals a pristine unused interior complete with the original silver frames, blue paper liners, and clear photo covers still in place. It closes securely with a satisfying firm click.
The top is finished with a decorative fan-shaped engraved bale, and we have added a new sterling silver fine curb chain, so it is ready to wear or give as a thoughtful gift.

MEASUREMENTS: locket 4.5cm (1-3/4") tall including the bale, 3.5cm (1-3/8") wide and 7mm deep. Chain 45cm (18")
WEIGHT: 14.3 grams
HALLMARKS: locket stamped inside '925-Sterling' along with a makers mark. Stamped on the reverse in a tiny London import mark along with '925' and date letter 'B' for 1976 (difficult to see in the midst of the heavy engraving).
DATE: mid-century, dated 1976
CONDITION: in very, very good vintage condition with light surface wear as expected and no noted flaws
