A beautiful antique 18ct yellow gold diamond and ruby ring with good clear hallmarks for Chester in 1903. A half hoop band style the ring features central ruby in a 7-point star setting flanked by columns of 3 old mine cut diamonds at each side. A further 2 rubies in star settings grace the scrollwork decorated shoulders.
A very feminine and pretty design with exquisite detailing and real earth mined gemstones the rubies are a gorgeous pink-red and all the stones have been tested and verified using a Presidium Gemstone Tester.
This lovely dainty ring is an absolute classic of the Edwardian era evoking that bygone age of elegance, it would make a charming wedding ring and is perfect for stacking with other antique rings. As an added bonus gold jewellery hallmarked in Chester is particularly sought after, the assay office closed in 1962 resulting in these historically hallmarked pieces becoming particularly desirable.

HALLMARKS: Stamped 'Crown' and '18' for 18ct gold, '3 wheatsheaves & sword in a shield' for the city of Chester, date letter 'C' for 1903 and model/stock number '148'
SIZE: UK size P, US size 7-3/4, the ring can be sized but there is a risk that some of the hallmark will be lost
