A beautiful antique Edwardian rolled gold double-sided glass picture pendant/breloque featuring an early colourized period photo of a beautiful young lady on one side with the other side having black grosgrain ribbon liner. The gold frame is decorated in beads and scroll-work and the thick glass covers are gently convex.
This lovely antique locket can be enjoyed as it is or you could replace the picture with your own photos, keepsakes or tiny gemstones. It opens by unscrewing the bail at the top to access the inside and we have added a new Italian gold vermeil (gold plated sterling silver) belcher chain for immediate wear.
Rolled gold (gold filled) is made by mechanically bonding a layer of gold over a base metal. Significantly thicker than gold plating (the gold layer is at least 1/20 of the overall metal content by weight), it is high quality finish saturated in colour that will retain its golden lustre.
