A stunning pair of extra long antique gold tassel earrings hailing from the Victorian era.
Superb quality, the earrings Etruscan revival in style and are crafted in 15 carat gold with thick gauge 9ct gold hooks. They are crafted in 3 shades of gold: bright yellow, rose and lemon gold and feature gold beads and foxtail chains. They swing freely with fabulous movement and are in pristine condition belying their advanced age!
Etruscan jewellery is characterized by the use of bright yellow gold in intricate designs with gold beads and granulation and these earrings are a shining example of this Victorian jewellery trend that harks back to ancient times, they are effortlessly wearable and surprisingly modern!
MATERIALS: 15ct gold fittings, 9ct gold ear wires, acid tested
MEASUREMENTS: the earrings measure a full 3" (7.5cm) from top to bottom
DATE: Victorian circa, 1860 (the hooks are a modern replacement)
WEIGHT: 5.9 grams total
HALLMARKS: stamped '375' on the wires and a 'W.S' makers mark on the drops
