A gloriously sophisticated Victorian engraved 9ct gold brooch set with a carved coral portrait and seed pearls.
Very much in the emerging Art Nouveau style that appeared at the end of the Victorian era the brooch is incredibly intricate in an oval scalloped shape with both engraved and rococo borders. The pink and white angel skin coral cameo is set into a free form bezel accented by 4 pearls in tall bezels. An extra long vertical pin stem and a gold chain with a safety pin adds to the elegant detailing on this piece that showcases old world hand wrought goldsmithing at its best.
The brooch is stamped 9ct with a makers mark, the assay marks are partly occluded by the frame and we have acid tested to verify 9ct gold content. A lovely accent accessory, perfect for the collar or lapel and good for the ladies or the gents. Nothing connects you to the past more than antique cameo jewellery, oozing with the elegance and sophistication of a former era.
