This beautiful sunny antique sterling silver locket is a fairly large size and hails from the Victorian era. It suspends from a wonderful old curb chain that is pretty heavy duty and at 16" long it is perfect for this type of locket.
The locket has a high polished mirror finish and is embossed on the back and front with a lovely sunny chrysanthemum flower motif. The flowers are raised up and have engraved accent lines around the heads and petals giving a very attractive 3-D effect. A pillowed teardrop shaped bale at the top adds to the lovely decorative puffy appeal.
The locket opens from the side to reveal 2 stations for photos, there are no pictures rings but there are slight rims around the edges so you could tuck photos underneath to hold them in place and it is deep enough to insert any other precious keepsakes you may want to keep inside instead of photos.
The sterling silver chain has curb links and has plenty of age to it too, a classic chain style favoured by the Victorians it is lovely quality and fastens with a bolt ring.
The locket is in good used condition, there is some surface wear as expected, tiny shallow dents and little scratches which, overall, seem to add to the antique charm. The locket closes securely with a satisfying snap and the chain is in excellent condition.
