Hailing from the Victorian Aesthetic era this magnificent sterling silver and gold locket is fully hallmarked for the year 1880 and is heirloom worthy!
A large size and superb quality it is crafted in heavy gauge silver and exquisitely hand-engraved in a beautiful aesthetic design. Rose, calla lily, forget-me-not flowers are overlaid in yellow and rose gold and a raised ribbon banner underneath the flowers is ornately engraved in the original owners monogram "F.E.O.". The locket has an elegant flat profile and a hinged yoke at the top with a large triangular bale.
The locket opens from the side to reveal period photos of an attractive couple along with the original picture frames and plastic covers. The photos can be removed and replaced with your own if you wish.

CONDITION: in excellent antique condition with light age appropriate wear and no noted flaws. It closes securely with a satisfying snap. Note any dark spots are reflections.
