Circa 1890, this beautiful antique Victorian sterling silver horseshoe stick pin is set in Montrose Blue Scottish agate and resides in a high quality blue leather box with a fitted interior and an adorable domed lid. The Victorians surrounded themselves with symbolism, it was everywhere. a horseshoe was thought to bestow good luck and protect the wearer from evil.
The stick pin measures 2-7/8"/7.2cm long and weighs 1.6 grams. Not marked for metal content, tested and confirmed sterling. In fine antique condition showing minimal wear, likewise the box is in equally good condition.
