An unusual piece, this beautiful Victorian sterling silver brooch hails from the Aesthetic era, circa 1880, and it doubles as a locket opening to reveal 2 stations for photos. Oval in shape and generous in size it is hand-engraved in a Lily-of-the-Valley design on the front. In Victorian symbolism the Lily-of-the-Valley stands for a pure heart and soul, they speak of true love and have been a favourite wedding flower throughout the ages. Perhaps this charming piece was originally a love token given to a Victorian bride.
A quality piece made in heavy gauge silver with a lovely pillowed profile it still has it's original silver photo frames inside that have rims and little notches to hold your photos in place so they won't come loose and fall back into the lockets deep interior.
This eye-catching and elegant Victorian silver brooch will sit pretty pinned to a jacket, scarf or crisp white shirt, it's a beauty!
