A beautifully sentimental Victorian 9ct gold pendant fob that resembles a locket (although it doesn't open).
This is a spinner fob that is engraved one side in beautiful copperplate lettering with a couples initials and fleur-de-lis motifs . The other side features Scottish carnelian stone in a warm mulled spice colour with faint white banding.
Crafted in antique gold, a lovely subtle shade of red gold, it has a decorative curb chain at the top with with a ball finial and a 9ct gold jump ring. The engraving, T.S. and N.H. lead us to think these were a couples initials, rather like you would carve on a tree, and suggest this was possibly a love token.
Originally worn to adorn a pocket watch chain these fobs are very fashionable now worn as pendants. This one will make a particularly nice one, it's an impressive size, lovely and deep and you can vary the look - locket or pendant - depending on which side you wear facing. Gorgeous piece, a distinctive and unique addition to any antique jewellery collection!
