A very pretty and feminine sterling silver Victorian "Albertina" watch chain that can be wrapped around the wrist and worn as a fabulous bracelet.
Etruscan Revival in style this piece features rows of twisted rope and wheat chains along with a long fox tail tassel charm, fancy twisted T-bar and generously sized dog-clip. A gorgeous and versatile piece of jewellery the dog-clip can be fastened to any section of the chain. If your wrist measures 6-1/2" (16.5cm) or less you can fasten the clip to the jump ring at the junction where the T-bar and tassel meet and have them drape enticingly over your hand.
Named after Queen Victoria's husband Prince Albert, the distinctive Albertina is the feminine version of the Albert watch chain. The Albertina tends to be a lot more fancier and decorative than the utilitarian Albert and they were worn as a bracelet as well as a watch chain.
A must have for the antique jewelry lover, a gorgeous classic and an all time favourite!

MEASUREMENTS: 11-3/4" (27cm) laid flat measured from the end of the clip to the end of the tassel. Central 'vase' charms 16x11mm, dog-clip 22x7.5mm, tassel 40mm long, T-bar 28mm
WEIGHT: 14 grams
HALLMARKS: stamped '925' for sterling silver on the dog-clip and we have acid tested several components to confirm that it is sterling throughout.
DATE: circa 1880, Victorian
CONDITION: this Victorian Albertina is in good antique condition with the clip in perfect working order. One of the little foxtail strands of chain on the tassel charm is missing which isn't particularly noticeable, please see the photos.
