An incredibly heavy and chunky all original vintage sterling silver curb chain bracelet with a heart padlock clasp that bears good clear hallmarks for London 1972.
This bracelet is stamped throughout the links with the British lion passant for sterling, extensive hallmarking like this is always a sign of a quality chain. The bracelet has very thick solid links (not hollow) with the end rings soldered safely closed. It has a large size heart padlock complete with a real keyhole. No key is required to open the padlock, the hasp simply pushes in at the nub to open it and it swings back and locks closed with a solid click. A built in safety chain completes this impressive piece.
A fabulous British classic for the woman who likes to make a statement, this "sweetheart" bracelet will never go out of style and you will want to wear her forever!

MEASUREMENTS: 8" long (20 cm). Links 14x12mm, 3.2mm thick. Padlock 26x16mm & 4mm thick, safety chain 3-1/4" (8.5cm)
WEIGHT: heavy at 62.5 grams (2.2 ounces)
DATE: 1970's, mid-century
HALLMARKS: stamped on links and end rings 'lion passant' for sterling, stamped on padlock 'lion passant', 'leopard head' for London, date letter 'r' for 1972 and makers mark 'RGS' for R G Springall & Co.
CONDITION: in overall excellent vintage condition with minor surface wear in keeping with age. The heart padlock clasp is in perfect working order and closes with a solid snap. The bracelet has been professionally cleaned and polished so it's ready to wear or to give as a gift.
