This solid golden brown jade vintage pendant is carved into the form of a graceful koi or carp fish and quite a large size. The jade is a lovely pale caramel colour with yellow marbling. The pendant is beautifully carved with realistic modelling and we just love his curvy frilly outline and the bubble emerging from his mouth!
Adding to the beautiful realism there are dark opaque inclusions deep within the stone and the outside edges are almost transparent when held up to the light. This shadow effect makes you imagine you can see his internal organs!
This quality pendant is finished with a fairly large size rosy red gold faceted hanging loop and a jump ring. The fittings are rolled gold/gold filled and not solid gold.
The pendant can be purchased with the new rose gold plated sterling silver belcher/rolo chain shown in the photos if desired, or you can purchase the pendant alone if you prefer. The chain is 18" (45cm) and is stamped '925'
A fabulous and unusual amulet. According to Feng Shui, a fish represents wealth and prosperity, the Chinese word for fish actually translates to “abundance”. Perhaps this pendant will bring you the same fate!
