An unusual antique sterling silver football fob dating to the 1920s, featuring a wonderfully detailed footballer scene in classic Art Deco style. Originally worn on a gentleman’s watch chain, it now makes a distinctive and highly wearable pendant for lovers of vintage football memorabilia and antique silver jewellery alike.
The fob was made by celebrated Birmingham silversmith William Hair Haseler, the firm responsible for manufacturing much of the silverware retailed by Liberty & Co. London during the late Victorian and early twentieth century period. It is stamped with the British Registered Design number RD 701718, dating the design to around 1925.
The reverse is plain and polished while the front retains crisp detail to the football scene and decorative border. A rare surviving piece of early football memorabilia with genuine period character.
This pendant may be purchased with or without the new sterling silver belcher chain. The optional chain is Italian-made sterling silver and hallmarked '925'.

MEASUREMENTS: stands 1-1/2" (5cm) tall measured from the top of the jump ring to the bottom, the fob itself is 1" (2.5cm) diameter. The jump ring is 8mm diameter. Optional chain is 18" (46cm)
WEIGHT: without chain 8.6 grams (with chain 11.4 grams)

CONDITION: in very, very good antique condition with minor wear and light surface scratches in keeping with age.
