Circa 1820, an exquisite antique Georgian quizzing glass pendant crafted in luxurious 18ct gold. The gold is a beautiful bright buttery yellow with every inch ornately chased in shells and flowers. The thick optical glass provides around five times magnification. Pretty and practical she is ready to pair with an eye-catching gold chain to match her immense character! Quizzing glasses were extremely popular pieces of jewellery during the Georgian Regency and early Victorian era when almost every fashion plate showed elegant young ladies and gents wielding them with great aplomb. Practicality aside, they could and were used to glare at a person as a manner of set-down or mockery!
