A beautiful and substantially sized Victorian sterling silver heart padlock pendant, set with an exceptional Scottish bloodstone cabochon in deep forest green, richly flecked with vivid red. The striking heart-shaped stone is framed by traditional engraved silverwork, creating a wonderful contrast of colour and texture.
The upper section forms a working padlock hasp that opens and clicks securely closed, accompanied by a decorative silver safety chain. The reverse conceals a little locket compartment, with space for a tiny photograph or treasured keepsake.
The symbolism of the heart and padlock is especially evocative.
