A rare vintage 1960s Italian Lambretta lapel pin, celebrating one of the great icons of the era. Crafted in bright yellow gold-plated metal with vibrant blue enamel, it is cleverly constructed in one solid piece and simply slots through the buttonhole of a jacket lapel — an unusual and practical design.
The bold blue and gold colouring gives it a wonderfully graphic mid-century appearance, while the unmistakable Lambretta name makes it particularly appealing to collectors of Italian design, vintage motoring and scooter memorabilia. The enamelling is in remarkable condition for its age, with a lovely glossy surface and very little evidence of wear, suggesting that this iconic little pin was rarely worn.
It is marked to the reverse ‘S Johnson Milano’, together with geometric maker's marks.
