This exquisitely detailed antique 'buttercup' ring is crafted in luxurious 18ct yellow gold and features a vivid pink ruby surrounded by a halo of tiny twinkling old mine cut diamonds. Hallmarked in Chester with a date mark of 1918 this beauty is very collectible too, Chester assay office closed in 1962 so these historical hallmarks are always desirable.
Feminine and exceedingly pretty the front of the ring features a mount cut out in circles that creates the classic 'buttercup' scalloped edge and gently domed face. The sparkling gemstones nestle in a bright cut star setting at the top of the dome. The shoulders feature decorative carved lines and they gently graduate to a D-shaped band at the back.
A stunning gemstone cut and colour combination in bright buttery yellow gold, this ring looks beautiful on the hand. Few things catch the eye like July's birthstone in this hot pink colour, an all round exquisite example of Edwardian elegance and craftsmanship.
