Circa 1790–1810, a charming Georgian gold-cased fob seal set with a rich forest green bloodstone.
Elegant and quietly distinctive, it was originally worn as a personal seal and today translates beautifully as a unique antique pendant.
The design reflects late Georgian neo-classical taste, with a compact architectural form and finely executed radiating fluted decoration. Curved, heart-shaped shoulders rise gracefully to meet beneath a wide beaded suspension loop. The bloodstone matrix is hand-set within a softly contoured bezel and remains unengraved, allowing for personalisation if desired, or to be worn and enjoyed in its original state.
Crafted in gold casing—a high-quality bonded gold technique widely used in the late 18th and early 19th century—the piece retains a warm, mellow tone closely resembling solid gold, with excellent durability.
With its delicate proportions, this is a particularly wearable example. Originally intended for a watch chain, it now lends itself effortlessly to modern wear as a distinctive antique pendant. Please note the chain shown is not included.
