This gorgeous antique sterling silver padlock is a lovely example of Victorian jewellery, and it is very unusual in that it's set with a cabochon of Whitby jet inlaid in a floral glass micro-mosaic panel.
A rare bird dating to around 1860 this very wearable piece will look incredible worn on a chain using the silver loop or you can remove the loop and use it to fasten chain bracelets and necklaces or attach it to a dog-clip guard chain

HALLMARKS: stamped with a 'lion passant' for sterling on the loop, the padlock isn't marked and we have acid tested and confirmed sterling silver

CONDITION: In good antique condition with some light surface wear commensurate with age including nibbles around the edge of the Jet which is expected with this gemstone and is really only noticeable under close magnification, please see the photos. The padlock functions perfectly
