A rare Georgian mourning ring in 18ct gold, centred with a hair locket and framed by a cluster of black paste stones — a beautifully preserved piece of early 19th century sentiment.
At its centre sits a domed glass locket compartment, tenderly preserving a lock of hair — a deeply personal memento from the early 19th century. This is encircled by a halo of rose-cut black paste stones, arranged in a halo, each securely held within finely pinched collet settings that catch the light with subtle sparkle.
The shoulders are elegantly formed with openwork scrolls, leading into a highly decorative band engraved with varying patterns — a level of detail that speaks to the craftsmanship of the Georgian period and gives the ring a unique antique character.
A quietly powerful relic of the past — intimate in sentiment and beautifully preserved after more than two centuries.

GEMSTONES: 8 rose cut black paste (glass) stones, approx. 4mm diameter
RING SIZE: UK K-1/2, US 5-1/2. Due to the intricacy of the shank, resizing is not recommended without affecting the engraved design
MEASUREMENTS: Face measures 15x14mm, locket compartment 7x6mm, shoulders 10mm stepped to a 2.5mm band at the back

CONDITION: Very good antique condition. Under magnification, there are light surface scratches to the locket glass and minor scuffs to the paste stones, both far less noticeable in person than under close photography.
