_A dramatic vintage Baltic amber statement ring dating to the 1980s, featuring an enormous freeform amber cabochon of striking natural character and sculptural presence.
The amber displays beautiful natural variation in colour, shifting from rich opaque butterscotch yellow to glowing translucent cognac tones toward the edges. Highly polished to a glossy finish, the stone has been left in an organic asymmetrical teardrop form that perfectly complements the material’s natural beauty and prehistoric origins.
Exceptionally substantial in scale, the ring provides remarkable finger coverage and wears almost like a small wearable sculpture — very much in keeping with the bold artistic jewellery designs of the late 1970s and 1980s.
The amber is mounted to a minimalist sterling silver band using a concealed peg fitting with reinforced backing for stability and durability. Natural surface fissures, internal inclusions, and organic debris are present within the amber, all consistent with genuine untreated Baltic amber and contributing to its individuality and authenticity.
