A fairly heavy duty antique Victorian sterling silver 60" long guard chain necklace with double curb links and a dog-clip. The double curb link chain is a tight weave type of chain where 2 links are laid on top of each other and joined by a 3rd, this construction technique results in a durable hard wearing chain resistant to breaking.
This is a "continuous" necklace that goes over the head (it doesn't open) and has interest whether worn long, doubled or even tripled. It is in good antique condition with surface wear and expected signs of age and use. There is some loss to the double links here and there which we have reflected in the price, please refer to the photos. Although missing links are fairly typical in antique double link chains you are still left with a strong chain. The dog-clip is fixed (not swivel) and is in good working order. Tight weave chains like these can form kinks but a firm circular jiggle from both sides of the kink soon releases it.
