A stunning vintage 1970s Victorian Revival trilogy ring, beautifully crafted in solid 9ct gold and set with three large, luminous opals.
The three oval cabochon opals have a delicate pastel blue body colour with an exceptional play of colour, revealing flashes of soft pink, neon green and fiery red as they catch and reflect the light. Each stone has its own character, while together they create a wonderfully harmonious and luminous centrepiece.
The substantial 9ct gold setting is beautifully constructed, with an elevated, sculpted gallery giving the ring an elegant profile and allowing light to reach the opals. Fine gold beadwork decorates the setting along the top, bottom and sides, adding texture and dimension and giving the ring a lovely sense of depth and presence on the hand.
The design is a particularly appealing example of 1970s Victorian Revival jewellery — taking the romance and exuberance of 19th-century jewellery and interpreting it in a distinctly 20th-century way.
