This beautiful floral engraved adjustable silver bangle bears full Chester hallmarks for 1946. It is a real treat to see Chester silver, the assay office closed in 1962 so these historic hallmarks are desirable and collectible.
Just two decades away from being a true 100 year old antique this dainty bangle has a beautiful curvy profile and is engraved in a floral and scroll design with a lovely blank cartouche in the centre that you could chose to have engraved with initials or a name for a personal touch.
The bracelet is fully adjustable with the help of a series of 4 keyhole shaped eyelets and a silver peg that slots in so you can alter the size up or down for a perfect fit. A sliding collar keeps the end flat when it is fastened.

MATERIALS: sterling silver throughout
MEASUREMENTS: adjustable from approx. 6-3/4" (17cm) to 8-1/4" (21cm). It is 22mm wide at the front graduating to 8mm at the back
HALLMARKS: stamped 'lion passant' for sterling, 'sword & wheatsheaves' for Chester, date letter a Gothic 'd' for 1946 and makers mark 'JS' in a shield for Joseph Smith & Sons.
WEIGHT: 11.4 grams.
DATE: 1940s, late Art Deco
CONDITION: in very, very good condition, with some light wear and faint surface scratches as to be expected in a piece this age. All of our jewellery has been professionally cleaned and polished so it's ready to wear or to give as a gift.
