An exquisite antique 9ct gold sentimental Georgian, early Victorian brooch dating to around 1820.
The brooch features an unfoiled oval amethyst surrounded by a halo of bright white natural split pearls in nipped settings. The amethyst is beautifully faceted and an exquisite shade of a lilac. It is collet set and adorned with a raised tulip motif set with another 5 pearls. The brooch is constructed in tiers which gives a charming 3-dimensional effect, lovely attention to detail and the super quality that you do expect see in these early period pieces.
