A super stylish stylized silver bird brooch in a streamlined design iconic of the Art Deco era. We can be pretty specific dating this piece to the early 1920's, it bears the Diana's head hallmark used in Austria until 1922 and the city letter 'L' for Ljubljana, a city once part of the Austro Hungarian Empire.
Lovely quality, the brooch is fashioned as a dove in flight with elegant outstretched wings that are set with sparkling marcasite stones, it has a tiny garnet for an eye and it carries an olive branch as it flies. A pin back with a safety clasp completes this distinctive brooch, a sweet piece of antique jewellery representing peace, a lovely accent accessory good for the gents or the ladies!
