Circa 1920, this unusual antique Dutch sterling silver signet ring features an intaglio-seal style engraving of the coat of arms of Zuid-Holland (South Holland).
The shield shaped face is inscribed “Z Holland” and has a proud lion rampant surmounted by a count’s crown — a historic emblem associated with the province. Dutch hallmarks authenticate the piece, and it remains in very good antique condition with the crisp intaglio turning out a well defined impression.
A handsome and distinctive silver signet ring, ideal for collectors of heraldic jewellery, Dutch silver, or Art Deco era pieces.

HALLMARKS: Stamped inside band with a sword mark (Dutch silver guild mark used 1906–1957) and “GE1”, the maker’s mark of silversmith G.A. Van Engelen (1926–1957). Also stamped to the outside of the band with a worn hallmark.
