An antique silver George 5th threepence coin "thrupenny bit" is mounted into this fabulous pendant necklace that is hallmarked for London 1982.
Silver coin jewellery was very fashionable in Britain in the 70s and 80s and is gaining popularity again worn as distinctive and unique layering pieces. The thrupenny bit is set into a lovely sterling silver filigree coin mount with a bale at the top and it suspends from a sterling curb chain that is likely original to the pendant. As is usual of British silver coins minted before 1920 the silver content of the threepence coin is 925 (sterling) silver.
Both the pendant and chain are in tip top condition, beautifully polished and ready to wear straight out of the box! Fabulously retro, a stylish accessory that can be worn by a man or a woman.
