Bearing good clear hallmarks for the year 1905 this beautiful sterling silver antique lockets dates to the very end of the Victorian era. It is fashioned in an unusual heart shaped shield design and is engraved in a very pretty rose and curling acanthus leaf pattern. The locket opens to reveal the original picture rings, paper liners and plastic covers still in place and it suspends from a fairly substantial sterling silver cable chain that has plenty of age to it too.
Both the locket and chain are in lovely condition with signs of age like minor surface wear that you might expect but nothing untoward. The engraving is still beautifully crisp, the hinge is good with the locket closing securely with a click. Note any dark spots are reflections.
