
A charming antique English sterling silver bar brooch commemorating the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Victoria, these little sentimental jewels are becoming harder to find!
Fully hallmarked for 1896 brooch the brooch celebrates her 60 year reign. It features a repousse image of the elderly Queen along with the dates 1837-1897 applied in silver cut-outs. The background is engraved 'VR' for 'Victoria Regina' and the edges are accented in silver beads. The brooch has a sturdy silver pin with a tubular hinge and c-clasp on the reverse.
A very sweet piece of antique sentimental silver jewellery, perfect for the lapel and good for the gents or the ladies!

HALLMARKS: 'lion passant' for sterling, 'anchor' for Birmingham, date letter 'W' for 1896 and makers mark 'WBs' for Ward Bothers

DATE: Victorian, dated 1896
CONDITION: in very good antique condition with light tarnish and a few shallow dings on the back. The detailing remains nice and crisp and the pin back is in perfect working order.
