A beautiful all original antique sterling silver locket and matching bookchain necklace chain.
Despite its queenly size this is a lightweight necklace featuring an embossed (hammered) puffy rosette pattern that is intricate and very attractive. The oval locket is puffy and decorated in the same rosette pattern with a elongated bail and fixed pictures rings. The locket is detachable from the necklace so lots of versatility here.
MATERIALS: 925 sterling silver, acid tested
MEASUREMENTS: The necklace measures 18-1/2" long (approx 47cm) and 5/8" wide with a 3" drop that includes the bail and ring. The locket measures 1-3/4" high and 1-1/4" wide without the bail.
HALLMARKS: None
WEIGHT: 37 grams.
DATE: 1880, Victorian
CONDITION: Excellent! This necklace is so intricate and dimensional that it is very difficult to capture true to life images of its real beauty, the camera has a hard time focusing on so much detail. It is in very fine condition with the locket snapping firmly closed and the large bolt ring working properly and holding securely. The rosette bookchain has no missing links or damage. A gorgeous all original highly desirable antique necklace that is as wearable today as it was when it was made, well over 100 years ago!
