An exceeding pretty and feminine antique 9ct gold emerald green and white paste cluster ring hailing from the Victorian era.
The ring features a beautiful oval green paste "emerald" framed by a halo of 12 lively round clear paste gemstones that sparkle like old diamonds. Good antique pastes like these are an absolute joy to behold and are very collectible!
The glass gemstones are set in sterling silver in a tall scalloped setting. White metal reflects light better than yellow gold so before the widespread use of white gold (in the 1920's) silver was the metal of choice in diamond and white gemstone settings.
