Hallmarked for 1889 this enchanting antique 9ct gold pendant is a substantial piece fashioned in the form of a Maltese cross. One side is finely engraved in a floral pattern with forget-me-not flowers, the other side is engraved in ivy and boasts a clever hidden locket compartment, perfect for storing cherished memories or treasured keepsakes. You might even place a tiny photo inside, the original gold picture ring is still present. You can wear this piece with either side facing for a completely different look, two antique pendants in one!
The pendant can be purchased with a new 14ct gold filled 18"/ 45cm fine cable chain or you can purchase the the pendant alone if you prefer, she has a sturdy 6.5mm gold jump ring that will happily accommodate most gold chains.

CONDITION: in very good antique condition with age appropriate light patina and signs of use but no real flaws. The gold has the lovely warm rosy hue of old gold. The locket compartment closes tightly. Note any dark spots or odd lumps and bumps are reflections.
