A beautifully decorative antique 9ct rolled gold/gold filled bangle that looks surprisingly modern but hails from the Victorian era.
Etruscan in style this pretty and dainty bangle is crafted on the oval from twisted wire with hollow decorative beads on the front and a simple hook closure at the back. It is flexible and very comfortable to wear, you can wear it at your wrist or further up your arm if you wish, so lots of versatility!
The bangle is well made and good quality. The yellow rolled gold overlay is very thick with no signs of any wearing away to the metal underneath, we actually acid tested it several times just to satisfy ourselves that it isn't solid gold. Rolled gold/gold filled is a mechanically bonded layer of solid gold over a metal core, it is much thicker than electro-gold plating and has a durable finish that looks that looks and feels like real gold jewellery.
A fabulous and versatile antique bangle, wear as alone as a classic and elegant accessory and great for stacking too! These gold wire bangles were the height of fashion in the mid to late 1800's and they were advertised as gold Roman rope bracelets, the Neoclassical style was all the rage due to recent discoveries of ancient tombs!
