An absolutely adorable antique Victorian carved bone egg charm that has a screw top so you can open it to pop a tiny precious keepsake inside. These opening eggs originally had a tiny carved bone chick inside!
The egg suspends from an antique rolled gold dog-clip so it is wonderfully versatile and can be clipped to a bracelet or worn on a wide variety of neck chains.
Eggs have long since represented Easter and they are a powerful symbol of birth, renewal and rebirth. They were a popular motif in Victorian times and featured on cards and in jewellery, ornaments and sweets!
